The Building Your Future Initiative was created to expand homeownership access and opportunity across Chicago, especially in communities that have historically faced systemic barriers to wealth-building.
Chicago is experiencing a severe housing shortage, with the U.S. short over 7 million homes. At the same time, many potential homeowners—including first-time buyers, working families, and long-time renters—are shut out of the traditional housing pipeline due to high prices, limited inventory, and rising mortgage rates.
The initiative is open to all qualified buyers, and Ani Real Estate and Ani Title are fully committed to upholding federal, state, county, and city fair housing laws. We do not discriminate against any protected class based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or source of income.
However, a key objective of this initiative—particularly through our partnership with the Chicago Urban League—is to address and reduce racial disparities in homeownership, especially among Black and Latino households, who continue to face disproportionately low homeownership rates due to systemic challenges.
